The Role
In a globally integrated transaction advisory platform, competitive advantage is created before deals are executed not during them. The Head of Strategy & Research is responsible for shaping where and how the Global Transaction Advisory Division (GTAD) wins.
This role sits at the front end of the value chain, converting market intelligence, investor behaviour, and sector dynamics into actionable transaction opportunities.
Your core mandate is to drive revenue through insight, translating market intelligence, sector knowledge, and investor demand into a qualified, prioritised global deal pipeline. You will directly influence revenue creation by defining the strategic logic behind deal origination and pipeline formation across regions, sectors, and channels.
Your Responsibilities
Global Strategy & Origination Intelligence
- Responsible for delivering a global origination intelligence framework that identifies and prioritises transaction opportunities across regions and sectors
- Responsible for delivering sector-driven investment and transaction theses that guide deal sourcing and prioritisation
- Responsible for delivering white-space identification across markets, sectors, and cross-border corridors
Pipeline Shaping & Commercial Input
- Responsible for delivering structured pipeline input into the Global Commercial Committee to inform prioritisation decisions
- Responsible for delivering early-stage deal shaping insights that improve conversion probability and transaction quality
- Responsible for delivering demand-driven origination strategies aligned to investor appetite and capital flows
Market Intelligence & Investor Insight
- Responsible for delivering commercially actionable market intelligence that directly influences deal selection and resource allocation
- Responsible for delivering systematic coverage of key investors, funds, and capital pools, translating demand signals into origination focus
- Responsible for delivering cross-border opportunity mapping, linking regional capabilities with global transaction themes

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
