Transaction Director, M&A

Location: Oxford (Milton Park)
Salary: Highly competitive + uncapped commission

Benchmark International is one of the world’s leading sell side advisory firms. We have completed over 1,900 company sales with a total value of more than $15bn and are consistently ranked the number 1 privately owned sell side M&A adviser globally (Pitchbook). We work exclusively for company owners, delivering bespoke exit strategies and international buyer reach through our proprietary transaction platform and a team of more than 400 specialists across 14 global offices.

We are strengthening the senior team in our Oxford office and are looking for an experienced deal doer who is ready to operate at Director level, to lead transactions, manage and develop people, and help strategically drive the next stage of the office’s growth.

The Role

As Transaction Director you will lead sell side M&A transactions from mandate through to completion, acting as the main point of contact for business owners selling their companies. You will manage and develop a team of M&A professionals and play a senior role in the running of the office. For the right person there is genuine scope to progress into broader leadership as the business grows.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
