We are seeking a diligent and proactive person to join the Real Estate Finance Team in the role of Transaction Manager.

The Role

The Transaction Manager role is to actively support a team of Relationship Directors (RD) in all transaction and execution dealings; to ensure consistent, high quality due diligence is undertaken, and that all transactions are executed in accordance with HSBC UK’s quality standards.

The Transaction Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective completion of customer lending transactions ensuring the high-quality underwriting and due diligence standards are maintained whilst adopting a commercial approach with customers and professional advisors.

In this role you’ll:

  • Prepare and review heads of terms for prospective customers
  • Instruct, monitor and liaise with professionals in respect of the preparation of due diligence reports and legal documentation
  • Review, analyse and report to RDs on property valuations and project monitor reports
  • Review and liaise with professionals and our customers to ensure legal documentation reflects credit approved terms and HSBC UK policies
  • Project manage transactions from structuring to completion of the documentation and drawdown
  • Manage lifecycle work and instruct professionals in relation to the existing portfolio
  • Ensure consistent application of Group Policy and adhere to regulatory, financial, and legal standards to minimise business and reputational risks
  • Collaborate with Group and Legal colleagues to deliver solutions for customers

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Strong analytical skills and able to accurately review documents
  • The ability to manage the competing priorities of multiple deals
  • Strong team skills promoting an environment of co-operation and trust, overcoming resistance, where encountered
  • Experience of managing complex relationships, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of efficient and effective completion of customer lending transactions ensuring the high-quality underwriting and due diligence standards are maintained whilst adopting a commercial approach with customers and professional advisors
  • Experience in the Real Estate segment with understanding of process, transaction execution and operational functions would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of bank lending documentation and the risks of real estate lending
  • Knowledge of Loan Market Association facility agreement documentation would be advantageous
  • Understanding of Real Estate policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure Bank’s property lending and reputational risk is effectively managed and controlled

This is a hybrid role where the base location can be based in Birmingham, London or Manchester. There will be occasional travel required for meetings and collaboration across these sites.
