About Marzipan
Marzipan Energy is a UK-based renewable energy company focused on the acquisition and development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and solar PV projects. Founded by a team with extensive experience across the clean energy sector, including the development of over 4GW of BESS assets and the construction of more than 200MW. Their transactional expertise spans the acquisition and disposal of individual assets and large portfolios, as well as a platform deal of nearly 2GW.
Marzipan Energy is actively acquiring BESS and solar PV assets across the UK, both Ready-to-Build assets with near-term connection dates and early-stage development projects with connection dates post-2028. The company is using their grid expertise and industry insight to develop their own targeted pipeline of renewable energy assets in key locations across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation of BESS and/or solar PV projects at various development stages, from early-stage concepts to Ready-to-Build assets.
- Drive transaction processes, including SPA negotiations and investor interfacing.
- Manage due diligence processes: title reports, land searches, construction feasibility, consultant management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Support development activities such as negotiating land agreements (Options, Easements, Deeds of Variation), and liaising with DNOs and TSOs.
- Oversee asset disposals to construction counterparties, including managing data rooms, running sales processes, and ensuring value-optimised exits.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of relevant experience in project acquisition and/or disposal, within the clean energy sector. Specific experience related to Solar PV/BESS is highly preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in progressing projects from concept through to Ready-to-Build.
- Strong grasp of financial modelling, investment assessment, and risk mitigation.
- Confident negotiator, with an ability to secure commercially sound, bankable positions.
- Excellent multitasking and project management capabilities across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Previous exposure to the construction phase of clean energy assets.
- Experience engaging with institutional investors and managing key stakeholder relationships.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.

Salary & Benefits
- £65,000–£90,000 depending on experience
