Job Details
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Transaction Team within the Payroll Service. We are recruiting for 4 Transaction Team Assistants to support a range of payroll processing and testing activities.
Role Overview
As part of this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the delivery and development of payroll services, including involvement in:
- Payroll processing, validation, and testing
- Ensuring systems, calculations, and transactions are accurate and compliant
- Contributing across transactional processes, including payments to employees, pensioners, and third parties
You will be responsible for supporting the following key duties:
- Processing and supporting the accurate delivery of payroll, including:
- Identifying and resolving errors
- Improving efficiency in processes
- Interpreting and applying payroll legislation (policy, procedures, and guidance) to ensure payments are processed correctly
- Undertaking payroll testing and validation activities, ensuring changes to systems or processes are accurate before implementation
- Performing reconciliations and control activities across payroll payments, bank transactions, and ledger balances to ensure:
- Correct allocation of payments
- Proper accounting and processing
- Processing various payments, including BACS and Bankline payments
- Supporting pension-related calculations and payments
- Providing customer support via multiple communication channels and resolving queries
- Handling overpayments, advances, and corrections appropriately
- Adhering to agreed KPIs and contributing to service improvement and efficiency initiatives
