The Role: Your Responsibilities
- Oversee all Transfer Station operations and manage waste transportation and processing logistics
- Develop and implement:
- Weekly and monthly operational plans that drive efficiency and meet performance targets
- Compliance-centric processes to meet environmental regulations
- Monitor performance against KPIs, identifying innovation and cost-saving opportunities
- Hold full accountability for ~40 Transfer Station and Logistics staff
- Lead with authentic visibility:
- Supervise, coach, and develop team members to sustain high performance
- Employ visible, transparent leadership to inspire and motivate
- Build a safety-first culture where everyone feels empowered
- Financial & budgetary leadership:
- Develop and propose annual budgets
- Support contractual negotiations (with Plant Manager/Regional Manager guidance)
- Oversee QHSE matters including:
- Health & Safety investigations
- Audit and statutory reporting compliance
- Environmental Permit adherence
- Drive cost-saving solutions while upholding operational excellence

Requirements
Essential Qualities
- Proven operational leadership: Experience managing teams in waste transfer or similar industrial environments
- Safety-centric mindset: Expertise in process safety management and incident prevention
- Regulatory acumen: Thorough knowledge of waste management regulations, Veolia Management Requirements (VMR), and Environmental Permit conditions
- Financial stewardship: Experience developing/managing operational budgets and financial controls
- Performance-driven:
- Ability to set, communicate, and drive operational targets/KPIs
- Skilled in constructive feedback and corrective action implementation
- Authentic leadership presence:
- Inspires trust, motivation, and trust while developing people
- Leads from the front with enthusiasm for operational excellence
- Makes decision with compassion
