FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Transformation Mobilisation Lead

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Transformation Mobilisation Lead to work for our client within the sector. This is initially a 3 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is mobilising a major SAP S/4HANA-led transformation spanning multiple programmes and workstreams. This role creates the connective tissue across the transformation: the integrated plan, the decision-making machinery and the board-ready stage gates needed to enter Detailed Design with confidence.

This role sits above and across the individual programmes, providing incremental senior capacity to the transformation leadership team during mobilisation.

Responsibilities

  • Integrated interdependency and critical path model
    • Identify and map cross-programme interdependencies, interconnections and milestones.
    • Build and maintain the critical path across the transformation, with a dependency log covering ownership and mitigation.
  • Cross-enterprise initiative oversight
    • Oversee delivery of enterprise-wide design initiatives (e.g. Product Hierarchy, Customer Hierarchy, Standard Unit of Measure).
    • Provide governance-aligned delivery plans, decision tracking and risk management for each initiative.
  • RAPID decision-making framework
    • Design and roll out a RAPID (Recommend, Agree, Perform, Input, Decide) framework to enable faster, clearer, more accountable cross-programme decisions.
    • Integrate the framework with existing governance forums (design authorities, PMO, SteerCo), including decision rights, templates and escalation pathways.
    • Support adoption through training, communications and embedded support over the first governance cycles.
  • Detailed Design stage gate (board-ready)
    • Define objective, measurable entry and exit criteria for the Detailed Design phase, spanning business, technology, data, delivery, finance and governance dimensions.
    • Produce the stage gate approval pack and readiness assessment model, and secure SteerCo / Board sign-off.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

  • Strong transformation office / PMO and governance design credentials; has built decision frameworks and stage gates, not only operated within them.
  • Comfortable operating and influencing at ExCo, SteerCo and Board level.
  • Skilled at cross-programme integration: dependency management, critical path thinking and arbitration between competing workstreams.
  • Structured, outcomes-driven and credible with senior stakeholders from day one; consultancy background (Big 4 or equivalent) an advantage.
