Role: Transformation Director
Location: Flexible UK Locations (with FlexFirst hybrid working)

As a Transformation Director, you’ll spearhead seismic shifts—that’s no small task. You’ll partner with senior leaders, turn bold visions into concrete plans, drive breakthrough execution, and unlock transformative value across our business at scale.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Strategic Business Partnership
- Partner with senior leaders to define, prove, and realise visionary transformation roadmaps.
- Provide strategic challenge, delivery leadership, and practical problem-solving to uncover opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Align investments and transformation activities with overarching business priorities.
- Infuse external expertise into value models and prioritisation decisions, fostering critical and constructive discourse.
Transformation & Programme Leadership
- Lead large-scale transformation programmes from initiation to delivery, spanning all stages, stakeholders, and business areas.
- Maximise benefits realisation by finely tuning scope, cost, quality, and customer outcomes.
- Embed transformation within day-to-day operations, ensuring resilience and sustainability.
- Hold teams accountable for ownership, executing with clarity and focus on customer-collaborative outcomes.

Enterprise-Wide Digital & Data Leadership
- Harness the power of digital, data, automation, and AI to accelerate performance and innovation.
- Champion AI-native approaches that use data to pivot strategy, solve problems, and predict opportunities.
- Collaborate with business leaders to shape technology and product visions that align with evolving customer needs.
- Leverage data to reveal insights, measure impact, and enhance evidence-based decision-making.
Delivery Excellence & Governance
- Establish robust governance structures, control frameworks, and assurance models to ensure smooth execution.
- Collaborate with the Transformational Management Office (TMO) to prioritise and structure delivery activities, striking a balance between ambition and reality.
- Surface progress with transparency, rigorously tracking risks, dependencies, and benefits.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Foster trust and alignment among leaders and teams, navigating complex priorities and seamless execution.
- Build impactful relationships with Board-level stakeholders, ensuring integrated strategies.
- Mediating competing agendas through urgent dialogue and creating a momentum-driven narrative across portfolios.
Strategic Workforce & Skills Planning
- Future-proof the organisation’s capabilities, identifying skills gaps and creating adaptable solutions.
- Develop a tailored workforce plan, nurturing talent and cultivating a culture of continuous learning and agility.
- Cultivate leadership agility across the team, stemming from a community of shared purpose.
Regulatory, Risk & ESG Stewardship
- Secure responsible transformations, embedding resolute governance, compliance frameworks, and risk protocols.
- Enforce robust controls to mitigate regulatory and operational risks.
- Embed ESG principles into transformation strategies, ensuring sustainable alignment at all design stages.
Leadership, Culture Change & Capability Building
- Lead high-performing teams and transition the organisation into new ways of working.
- Set visionary direction and guide collaboration towards shared goals and accountability.
- Drive behavioural and capability change, ensuring perpetual adoption across teams.

What We’re Looking For: Qualifications
Work Experience & Technical Proficiency
- Proven record: Leading complex transformation programmes (budgets of £50m–£200m+ or equivalent market impact).
- Deep expertise in the energy transition: Low-carbon systems, electrification initiatives, digitisation, smart homes, and energy flexibility.
- Exceptional executive relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Rigorous background in programme governance, change management, and delivery excellence.
- Sense for impactful entrepreneurship—experience in translating strategy into strong, measurable business outcomes.
- Digital-first mindset: Deep knowledge of AI, data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled business transformation.
- Ability to plan and cultivate workforce capability, including team builds and skillsets for transformation projects.
- Sound expertise in regulated environments, governance, risk, and compliance.
- Proven track record of driving cultural shifts and embedding change sustainably.
- Comfortable navigating complex systems, multistakeholder initiatives, and ambiguous pressures while maintaining laser focus.
Education & Certifications Required
- Degree qualification or equivalent professional exposure.
- Sound working knowledge of Agile, MSP, PRINCE², or Lean methodologies.
- Advantageous: Certifications in programmes, digital transformation, change management, risk (e.g. PRINCE2, PMO function, Six Sigma, or executive-level digital qualifications).
