Transformation Director – Centrica Home

About Your Team

As Transformation Director at Centrica Home, you’ll help lead America’s energy evolution—from a carbon-based system to a digital, decarbonised, demand-responsive norm.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with Executive leadership to translate strategic ambitions into realistic transformation plans.
  • Provide performance mindset—challenging assumptions, problem-solving, and value creation.
  • Align priorities, investments, and roadmaps to ensure focused, agile execution.
  • Bring outside perspectives on value, risk, ROI, and delivery.

Transformation & Programme Leadership

  • Oversee multi-faceted transformation programmes—from design to delivery.
  • Ensure scope, cost, quality, and benefit–driven outcomes stay ahead. Sustainability’s never an afterthought.
  • Embed transformations so customers and colleagues see value daily in operational norms.
  • Balance speed with accountability—transferring learning into ongoing strategies.

  • Ensure you never lose sight of where you are—tracking risks, progress, dependencies, and benefits.

Stakeholder & Collaboration Leadership

  • Suspend power politics—align cross-departmental or functional teams.
  • Build trust with executive stakeholders—streamlining decision-making.
  • Address competing demands—resolving complexity to drive clarity.
  • Chart overarching priorities across transformation portfolios for momentum.

Skills & Workforce Planning for the Future

  • Ensure skills and operations align with strategic changes.
  • Root out skill gaps, address training, and build adaptable teams.
  • Cultivate learning & development—nurturing growth and keeping your culture forward-thinking.

Regulatory, Risk & ESG Leadership

  • Guarantee transformations comply with regulations, handle risks transparently, and sustain financial security.
  • Embed governance and controls—practically and ethically aligned.
  • Tackle carbon commitments, societal impacts, ethics, and regulatory hurdles.

Leadership, Culture & Capability Building

Key Requirements

Work Experience & Skills

  • £50m–£200m+ program budgets

    Proven experience preparing for, directing, and championing large-scale transformations.
  • Depth in energy transitions—understanding low-carbon tech, smart grids, electrification, and digital/energy services.

Education & Qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent.
  • Methodological clarity balancing Agile, MSP, PRINCE2, Lean (adds agility to department).
  • Desirable but not needed: certifications in program management, change management, data/digital leadership.
