We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MorethanACareer.
We do energy differently—we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.
About your team
At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it. Over the last 200 years, we’ve powered the UK’s homes and businesses—but we’re not just about supplying energy. We’re making the UK greener and more energy-efficient, moving closer to Net Zero.
By using clever technologies—such as thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers—we’re making it cheaper and easier for our customers to reduce their carbon footprint.
Role Overview: Transformation Director
Location: Flexible UK Locations with FlexFirst Hybrid Working
At Centrica Home, we’re combining the strengths of British Gas, Hive, and the power of digital, data, and agentic AI to shape the future of energy and home services. As customers transition toward lower-carbon, smarter, and more connected homes, we’re transforming how we serve them—designing new products, services, and business models that support a more sustainable energy future.
As a Transformation Director, you’ll be at the centre of this journey, leading complex transformation programmes that deliver meaningful change for our customers, colleagues, and business. You’ll partner with senior leaders to shape strategy, drive execution, and unlock long-term value at scale.
About The Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
Strategic Business Partnership
- Partner with senior business leaders to turn strategic ambitions into clear, achievable transformation plans.
- Provide strategic challenge, delivery leadership, and practical problem-solving.
- Align priorities, investment decisions, and transformation roadmaps.
- Bring an external perspective to value creation, risk assessment, and delivery tactics.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
