About The Role

As a Transformation Director, you’ll be central to our vision: leading complex initiatives that deliver real change for customers, colleagues, and the business. You’ll partner with senior leaders to:

  • Shape strategy
  • Drive execution
  • Unlock scalable impact

Key Accountability Areas

1. Strategic Business Partnership

  • Translate strategic ambitions into clear, actionable transformation plans.
  • Provide strategic challenge, leadership, and problem-solving.
  • Align priorities, investments, and roadmaps.
  • Bring an external perspective to value creation, risk, and delivery.

2. Transformation & Programme Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end large-scale programmes (e.g., £50M–£200M+).
  • Ensure scope, cost, quality, and benefits are met.
  • Embed customer/colleague-driven change into day-to-day operations.
  • Drive accountability for sustainable business results.

3. Enterprise-Wide Digital & Data Leadership

  • Leverage AI, automation, and data to accelerate transformation.
  • Champion innovation tied to actionable insights.
  • Shape technology and product direction with business leaders.
  • Use data to identify opportunities, measure impact, and support decisions.

4. Delivery Excellence & Governance

  • Establish governance, structure, and assurance for project success.
  • Partner with Transformation & Methodology Office (TMO) to prioritise and sequence work.
  • Balance ambition with operational realities.
  • Maintain transparency on progress, risks, and benefits.

5. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Foster decision-making alignment across leaders, teams, and functions.
  • Build trusted relationships with executives.
  • Resolve priorities and complex challenges.
  • Achieve clarity and momentum across portfolios.

6. Strategic Workforce & Skills Planning

  • Identify skills gaps and workforce needs for the future.
  • Support training and capability development to adapt to change.
  • Cultivate a learning culture and continuous improvement.

7. Regulatory, Risk & ESG Stewardship

  • Ensure transformational programmes are responsible and sustainable.
  • Manage regulatory, operational, and delivery risks.
  • Embed governance, controls, and ESG into initiatives.

8. Leadership, Culture & Capability Building

  • Inspire high-performing teams and embed new ways of working.
  • Clarify direction and expectations.
  • Encourage collaboration and shared ownership for outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

Work Experience & Functional/Technical Skills Required

✅ Proven track record in leading large-scale transformation programmes (£50M–£200M+ budget). ✅ Deep understanding of the energy transition, including:

  • Low-carbon technologies
  • Smart home solutions
  • Electrification
  • Digital/sustainable energy services ✅ Experience partnering with Executive and Board-level stakeholders to align strategy. ✅ Acclaimed programme delivery, governance, and change management skills. ✅ Strong commercial acumen to convert strategy into measurable business outcomes. ✅ First-hand experience with digital, data, and AI-powered transformations. ✅ Knowledge of workforce planning, organisational capability, and team development. ✅ Background operating within regulated environments (risk/compliance). ✅ Ability to drive cultural change and foster new ways of working. ✅ Confidence navigating complexity and ambiguity while sustaining delivery focus.

Education & Certifications

  • Degree (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Familiarity with methodologies such as Agile, MSP, PRINCE2, or Lean.
  • Preferred: Relevant certifications in programme delivery, change, digital, data, or risk management.
