We’re revolutionising energy as part of a thriving family of brands that powers a greener, fairer future. About Your Team

British Gas – Serving & Sustaining the UK

We’ve empowered homes and businesses in the UK for 200+ years—but our focus goes far beyond energy supply. Through smarter tech (like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers), we’re accelerating the nation’s path to Net Zero. Our role is pivotal: making cost savings, reducing carbon emissions, and delivering a more efficient energy future for millions.

The Role: Transformation Director

Flexible UK Locations | Hybrid Working (FlexFirst)

What the Role Involves

As a Transformation Director, you’ll spearhead ambitious projects that reshape both our service offering and our company foundations. Our ambition is bold:

  • Shape a future built on sustainable, digital energy solutions – from smart homes to electrification.
  • Align strategic goals with customer needs – ensuring rapid progress through agile, high-trust leadership.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between teams to deliver measurable impact across profitable growth and responding to Britain’s energy transition challenges.

You’ll be at the heart of a cultural shift: one that ignites innovation and optimises people operations. Your leadership will ensure we build a company that matches our ambitions – one where clear, compelling partnerships are less about volition, and more about velocity.

Key Accountabilities

1. Strategic Business Partnership

  • Partner with senior leadership teams to bring fresh insight and execute strategic transformation plans.
  • Provide executive challenge and practical decision-making across portfolios of large-scale programmes (£50M–£200M+).
  • Align change initiatives with business priorities, demonstrating decisive impact on long-term success.
  • Act as an external critical friend – constantly questioning, adjusting and sharpening strategy to reduce risk and maximise value.

2. Transformation & Programme Delivery

  • Take full ownership of commercial-grade, customer-centric transformational initiatives.
  • Lead high-stakes, cross-functional teams from strategy to delivery for measurable outcome, cost and quality achievements.
  • Drive sustainable adoption of new ways of working, embedding innovation into our as-usual operations.
  • Secure clear accountabilities and unlock tangible business outcomes while balancing strategic ambition and commercial pragmatism.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
