About The Role: Transformation Director – Flexible UK Locations with FlexFirst Hybrid Working

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionsing how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels—while living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer.

Here at Centrica Home, home to British Gas, we’re combining the strength of British Gas, the innovation of Hive, and the power of digital, data, and agentic AI to help shape the future of energy and home services.

Overview

At Centrica Home, we're delivering a transformation to serve customers in lower-carbon, smarter, and more connected homes. We aim to create an energy system that reduces dependence on fossil fuels and empowers customers to lead a more sustainable lifestyle.

We’ve been powering the UK’s homes and businesses for over 200 years—but supplying energy is just part of what we do. We’re making the UK greener, faster, and more energy-efficient by rolling out:

  • Clever tech like smart thermostats
  • Heat pumps
  • Solar panels
  • EV chargers

This tech helps our customers lower their carbon footprints, making it cheaper and easier while unlocking the potential of a smarter energy future.

About The Role: Transformation Director

You’ll partner with senior leaders to create a future where energy is lower in cost, cleaner, and intelligently distributed, with smarter homes at its heart. As a Transformation Director, you’ll:

  • Set the vision: Design and drive visionary transformation programmes that drive meaningful change.
  • Deliver at scale: Lead complex, large-scale programmes from strategy to execution.
  • Drive value: Partner with senior leaders to align priorities, investment decisions, and roadmaps.

You’ll champion innovation, embed digital and data-driven transformation, and challenge the status quo to unlock long-term value and business success.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Strategic Business Partnership:

  • Work closely with senior business leaders to turn strategic ambitions into clear, achievable transformation plans.
  • Provide strategic challenge, execution leadership, and practical problem-solving.
  • Align priorities, investment decisions, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Bring an external perspective to value creation, risk, and delivery.

Transformation & Programme Leadership:

  • Lead large-scale, complex transformation programmes or portfolios from design to delivery.
  • Define and execute scope, cost, quality, and benefits with strict accountability.
  • Ensure transformation strategies remain customer-focused and deeply embedded in business-as-usual operations.
  • Achieve sustainable, long-term business results through measurable efficiency gains.

Enterprise-Wide Digital & Data Leadership:

  • Drive transformation using digital, data, automation, and AI to improve performance and create efficiencies.
  • Champion innovative, insight-led approaches and apply advanced analytics & predictive models.
  • Guide the direction on technology and product development.
  • Use data to drive decisions, quantify impact, and identify strategic opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
