About The Role

You’ll be at the heart of Centrica Home, where the strength of British Gas meets the innovation of Hive, powered by the future of digital, data, and AI.

You’re responsible for leading large-scale transformation programmes that shape a more sustainable energy future. Your role? Partner with senior leaders to define strategy, drive execution, and deliver tangible value—transforming how we serve customers through bold products, services, and business models.


Key Responsibilities

🔹 Strategic Business Partnership

  • Partner with senior leaders to convert strategy into actionable transformation plans.
  • Apply strategic challenge, delivery leadership, and practical problem-solving.
  • Align priorities, investments, and roadmaps with business objectives.
  • Bring external perspectives to value creation, risk management, and delivery.

🔹 Transformation & Programme Leadership

  • Lead complex, large-scale programmes from inception to execution.
  • Ensure scope, budget, quality, and benefits are met while keeping a customer-centric and colleague-driven approach.
  • Embed change into day-to-day operations, driving accountability and long-term results.

🔹 Enterprise-Wide Digital & Data Leadership

  • Leverage digital, data, automation and AI to accelerate transformation and performance improvement.
  • Champion innovative, data-driven solutions.
  • Shape technology and product direction alongside business teams.
  • Use data to uncover opportunities, measure impact, and guide decisions.

🔹 Delivery Excellence & Governance

  • Provide structured governance and assurance for successful programme delivery.
  • Work with the TMO to prioritise and sequence delivery activities.
  • Balance strategic vision with operational realities.
  • Maintain visibility of risks, dependencies, progress, and benefits.

🔹 Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Foster aligned decision-making across leaders, teams, and functions.
  • Build trusted executive relationships to resolve competing priorities.
  • Drive clarity and momentum across transformation projects.

🔹 Strategic Workforce & Skills Planning

  • Identify skills gaps and workforce implications of change.
  • Support capability development and a growth mindset culture.

🔹 Regulatory, Risk & ESG Stewardship

  • Ensure transformations are ethical, compliant, and sustainable.
  • Manage regulatory, operational, and delivery risks.
  • Integrate ESG considerations across programmes.

🔹 Leadership, Culture Change & Capability Building

  • Lead high-performing teams and drive behavioural change.
  • Encourage collaboration, shared ownership, and long-term adoption of new working methods.

What We’re Looking For

Key Requirements

✅ Experience leading high-impact transformation programmes (≥£50M scale, portfolio-level leadership). ✅ Deep understanding of energy transition, low-carbon technologies, smart homes, electrification, and digital energy services. ✅ Proven partnership experience with executive leaders, boards, and cross-functional stakeholders. ✅ Background in programme governance, change management, and commercial delivery. ✅ Ability to align strategy with measurable business outcomes. ✅ Expertise in digital, data-driven and AI-enabled transformations. ✅ Knowledge of workforce planning, organisational capability, and skills development. ✅ Background in regulated environments, risk, and compliance.

Education & Certifications

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with methodologies such as Agile, MSP, PRINCE2, or Lean.
  • Advantageous: Certifications in programme management, digital/change/ESG leadership.
