Role Overview
At Centrica Home, we’re elongating British Gas and Hive’s legacy by merging innovation, digital, data and AI to future-proof home energy services. You’ll lead high-impact transformation programmes—aligning strategy with scalable outcomes—while shaping customers toward smarter, sustainable living.
About This Role: Key Accountabilities
1. Strategic Business Partnership
- Convert ambitious long-term strategy into decisive, actionable plans with senior leadership.
- Offer senior leadership on risks, opportunities, and outcome delivery.
- Align commercial priorities, investments, and roadmaps through a external-eyes perspective.
2. Transformation & Programme Leadership
- Head the end-to-end delivery of complex transformation initiatives (portsfolios, large-scale rollouts).
- Ensure measured success across scope, cost, quality, and benefits.
- Anchor change into colleague and customer workflows, ensuring adoption beyond project phases.
- Hold stakeholders accountable for scalable, sustainable results.
3. Digital & Data-Driven Transformation
- Drive innovation through tech, automation, AI and advanced data analysis.
- Shape technology and product development in collaboration with business seniority.
- Extract customer insights through data to optimise impact and decision-making.

4. Delivery Excellence & Governance
- Establish rigorous governance frameworks for transformation assurance.
- Partner with TMO to align and sequence timelines for operational coherence & strategic scale.
- Maintain real-time visibility of risks, dependencies, benefits and delivery timelines.
5. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Unify leaders across functions to foster aligned decision-making.
- Build and nurture *trusted relationships with executive leadership.
- Mediate conflicting priorities and navigate complex challenges to maintain momentum.
6. Strategic Workforce & Skills Planning
- Identify skills gaps and workforce implications for future programmes.
- Lead capabilities development to adapt the team for new ways of working.
- Cultivate a culture of learning, agility, and continuous growth.
7. Regulatory, Risk & ESG Stewardship
- Steward all transformations with responsibility & sustainability at their core.
- Manage regulatory, operational, and delivery risks.
- Embed ESG considerations into programme objectives and delivery plans.
8. Leadership, Culture & Capability Building
- Inspire and guide high-performing teams through steps toward a new normal.
- Champion shared ownership of outcomes while aligning individual and team efforts.
- Facilitate behavioural change and lasting adoption across the business.
Required Experience and Skills
Work Experience
- 20+ years of hands-on leadership proven in multi-million-pound transformation programmes ($50M–£200M+).
- In-depth understanding of the energy transition—low-carbon tech, smart energy solutions, electrification, and digital energy services.
- Steady Executive/Board-level partnership experience—translating strategy into measurable business outcomes.
- Rigorous background in programme delivery, governance and change management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead digital transitions, AI, automation and advanced analytics.
- Workforce planning and organisational capability development—dual focus on skills/reskilling of programme leaders.
- Management of programmes within regulated environments—compliance, risk, and governance expertise.
- Track record of driving cultural change and sustaining adoption across complex process shifts.
- Leadership proven through complexity, agility, and ambiguity—while ensuring delivery focus.

Education & Qualifications
- Earned degree (or equivalent professional experience).
- Programme Methodologies experience (Agile, MSP, PRINCE2 or Lean preferred).
- Advantageous: qualifications in programme/project management, change, digital, data or risk management.
