Transformation Director

Overview

As a Transformation Director, you’re at the heart of driving purpose-led change within Centrica Home. You’ll lead complex transformation programmes, turning strategic ambitions into execution strategies that deliver tangible value for customers, colleagues, and the business.

Collaborating with senior leadership, you’ll shape the future of energy systems, leveraging digital, data, and AI to transform how we interact with—and impact—our customers’ lives.


About the Role

Your key responsibilities include:

Strategic Business Partnership
  • Partner with senior leaders to translate high-level strategy into actionable transformation plans.
  • Provide strategic challenge, delivery leadership, and problem-solving.
  • Align priorities, investment decisions, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Bring an external, value-driven perspective on risk, delivery, and commercial opportunities.

Transformation & Programme Leadership
  • Spearhead large-scale, multi-faceted transformation programmes from inception to delivery.
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes while focusing on sustainable long-term impact—prioritising customers and colleagues.
  • Foster business-as-usual embedment and drive accountability for sustainable results.
Enterprise-Wide Digital & Data Leadership
  • Leverage digital, data, automation, and AI to accelerate transformation and improve efficiency.
  • Champion insight-led innovation and guide technology/product direction alongside business stakeholders.
  • Use data to identify gaps, measure impact, and inform decisions.
Delivery Excellence & Governance
  • Establish governance structures to enable successful transformation.
  • Partner with transformation governance teams (TMO) to prioritise and streamline delivery activity.
  • Balance strategic goals against operational realities, ensuring visibility into risks, progresses, dependencies, and benefits.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
  • Facilitate aligned decision-making across diverse teams and senior leadership.
  • Build trusted relationships with executives and resolve tensions in priorities and challenges.
  • Drive accountability through clarity and momentum across portfolios.
Strategic Workforce & Skills Planning
  • Future-proof the organisation by identifying skills gaps and workforce impacts.
  • Support capability development and foster a culture of adaptive learning.
Regulatory, Risk & ESG Stewardship
  • Ensure transformations meet regulatory, operational, and sustainability standards.
  • Manage risks and embed ESG considerations into every phase of programme delivery.
Leadership, Culture, & Capability Building
  • Establish results-driven, collaborative teams that champion cultural change.
  • Set expectations and foster ownership of outcomes.
  • Drive long-term growth and adoption of new ways of working.

What We’re Looking For

Core Qualifications

  • Experience & Functional Background
    • Significant leadership capability: Proven success in driving £50m–£200m+ transformation portfolios.
    • Deep knowledge of the energy transition, including:
      • Low-carbon technologies (e.g., heat pumps, EV infrastructure).
      • Smart home solutions and electrification.
      • Sustainable, digitally enabled services.
    • Executive-level collaboration: Strong track record partnering with Board and senior representatives.
    • Focus on programme delivery, governance, and risk management.
    • Commercially adept—able to convert strategy into measurable business outcomes.
    • Expertise in digital, data-fuelled transformation, including AI, automation, and analytics.
    • Hands-on experience in workforce and capability planning.
    • Comfortable operating in regulated environments, with a focus on compliance and risk.
    • History of driving cultural change and embedding organisational improvements.
    • Ability to navigate complexity while maintaining unwavering delivery efficiency.

  • Education & Certifications
    • Degree or equivalent qualification.
    • Knowledge of programme/project management frameworks, including: Agile, MSP®, PRINCE2®, or Lean.
    • Certifications in programme delivery, change, digital, data, or risk—preferred but not mandatory.
