Programme Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Programme Manager to take accountability for Programme Management across one or more of the transformation workstreams at B&M. You’ll partner with Functional Leads and Sponsors across Functional areas including Buying, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Retail, Property, IT, Legal and Compliance, to ensure all programme deliverables are landed successfully, driving change that is structured, sustainable, and embedded into our ways of working.

In addition to delivery ownership, you’ll play a key role in building and embedding programme management capabilities across the organisation, ensuring B&M continues to mature its approach to transformation and change.

This is a full time, office-based position for a 12 month FTC.

The key accountabilities will be:

  • Define programme resources, RACI, and governance structures, ensuring risks, dependencies, and scope changes are proactively managed.
  • Oversee programme finances and benefits realisation in partnership with Finance.
  • Chair and facilitate working groups and Sponsor sessions, ensuring alignment across BAU and Reset initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Functional Leads and delivery teams, driving collaborative, high-performing ways of working.
  • Champion end-to-end change, embedding Change Management methodology and promoting sustainable, effective new ways of working.
  • Partner with Workstream Sponsors to integrate the Transformation Office within Functional Leadership groups and foster a One Team culture.
  • Ensure all changes maintain safety and legal compliance, with colleagues trained and policies updated where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
