About the Role
The Programme Manager ensures strategic success across a diverse portfolio of interdependent programmes and projects, aligning them with organisational goals, delivering broad-scale transformation, and maximising business outcomes.
Key activities centre on:
- Delivering large-scale change across the organisation
- Managing risks, dependencies, and successful benefits realisation
- Driving people-centred development and customer excellence
This role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming business operations, fostering leadership growth, and embedding sustainable practices for the company’s evolving future.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Strategy & Planning
- Define and oversee the programme structure, ensuring alignment with strategy and organisational investment priorities
- Develop and maintain:
- Integrated programme roadmaps
- Key milestones and critical success factors
- Business cases (in collaboration with Business Leads and Finance)
Design
- Lead the design of end-to-end solutions that are:
- Robust and scalable
- Fully aligned with the business’s future state vision
Delivery
- Drive end-to-end programme execution, ensuring all projects deliver:
- Defined scope
- High-quality outputs
- Tangible benefits realisation per the integrated roadmap and strategic objectives

People & Customer Focus
- Embed the core principle of "Developing people and delivering what matters for customers and colleagues" across programmes
- Use this focus to prioritise work and measure success
Governance & Reporting
- Establish and operate effective programme governance, including:
- Steering committees
- Clear decision-making processes
- Provide clear, timely, and accurate reporting to:
- Head of Transformation and executive stakeholders
- Key metrics: programme status, risks, and benefits realisation
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage the programme budget, tracking expenditure and ensuring financial forecasts are accurate
- Oversight of:
- Project Manager workload allocation
- Dedicated team resources
Risk & Dependency Management
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks across:
- Inter-project dependencies
- Risks/issues that could degrade programme momentum
Third-Party Management
- Oversee vendor/contractor performance, ensuring compliance with:
- Contractual agreements
- Project requirements
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for executive sponsors and key stakeholders
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain alignment and programme adoption
Methodology & Best Practices
- Champion best practices in programme management across the organisation
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and coach Project Managers and direct reports
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment
Transformation Function Development
- Contribute to enhancing the transformation function’s processes, tools, and capabilities

- Regulatory requirements

- Health & Safety obligations include:
- Maintaining training records
- Providing competent supervision and a safe working environment
- Recording and investigating accidents/incidents (per company policy)
- Collaborating with periodic workplace inspections and audits
