Purpose of the Role
As a Transit Terminal Apprentice, you’ll support all Transit Terminal (TT) operations within a collaborative team environment. Essential qualities include:
- A proactive approach to learning
- Willingness to follow instructions
- Ability to develop key skills while contributing to daily tasks
Responsibilities
- Operate handheld scanning devices to accurately track freight
- Assist Short Distance (SD) drivers with loading and unloading tasks
- Adhere to all manual handling and health & safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organised space (general housekeeping)
- Collaborate with warehouse/transport teams for efficient operations
- Learn core terminal processes through practical training
- Progress to Material Handling Equipment (MHE) training upon meeting competencies
- Engage in team meetings, compliance briefings, and costumer training

- Understanding of health & safety, manual handling, and accuracy

- Flexibility to adjust to shift rotations
