Translation Project Manager
Project Manager, Localisation (Client Service)
Purpose
Manage a series of localisation projects cost-effectively, efficiently, and to the highest industry quality standards, including coordination of:
- In-house/external suppliers
- Technological resources
- Support for Team Lead/Senior Project Managers and Head of Operations, as required
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Administration
- Prepare quotes and timelines based on client requirements, seeking approval where necessary (from Team Lead, Senior Project Manager, or Head of Operations).
- Assist in developing new training programmes and operational processes alongside senior leadership.
- Select optimal translation professionals (based on languages, experience, costs, and specialised expertise).
- Coordinate human/technical resources to ensure projects meet deadlines, price targets, and quality standards.
- Liaise directly with customers, monitor financial budgets, and drive customer satisfaction.
- Actively participate in client calls, meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee project execution using MemoQ and Portico.
- Provide support to junior colleagues while maintaining daily/weekly project planners.

Quality & Operational Accountabilities
- Ensure consistent output quality across all projects.
- Align with agreed work practices, including supplier selection/control.
- Maintain project profitability and strict budget adherence.
- Deliver projects on time while keeping projects organised and clear.
- Delegate tasks to team members where appropriate.
Experience & Skills
Essential Criteria
- Proven project management experience (1–2 years preferred) in localisation, L&T, or related fields.
- Strong communication skills (written/verbal), analytical thinking, and numeric accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines under pressure, and deliver under tight timeframes.
- Problem-solver, with a flexible, adaptable approach to dynamic environments.
- Knowledge in foreign languages considered beneficial.
- Attention to detail, initiative, and enthusiasm for continuous learning.

Nice-to-have
- Languages/translation degree background (e.g., linguistics, translation studies).
- MemoQ/SDL Portico experience (or similar CAT tools).
- Team player with a collaborative mindset.
