Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Project Management Professional with expertise in high-voltage substation design for transmission and distribution companies in the UK & Ireland. This role will involve:
- Team Leadership: Forming and managing project teams, identifying external support requirements
- Stakeholder & Client Engagement: Defining project deliverables, managing client relationships, and driving contract compliance
- Project Delivery:
- Developing project plans and detailed programmes
- Controlling time, resources, and budgets against forecasts
- Monitoring progress and reporting milestones
- Technical Governance: Leading engineering design teams to deliver project outputs
- Proposals & Tender Support: Assisting bid teams in developing commercial responses
- Risk & Change Management: Ensuring quality controls and managing potential risks in delivery
- Vendor & Consultancy Coordination: Managing procurements and framework services for clients

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record in managing transmission and distribution projects for utilities, developers, or government clients
- Specialist knowledge of UK regulated and non-regulated energy sectors, with experience in:
- High-voltage substations & system network planning
- Overhead power lines, transformers, SCADA/DMS, and HVDC networks
- Project Management Certification (APM or PMI) or equivalent experience
- Client Liaison & Relationship Building skills in a high-stakes environment
- Technical familiarity with MS Office (especially MS Project) and Primavera P6 is advantageous
- Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (civil, electrical, or related field)
- Disciplinary knowledge of energy regulatory frameworks
