Transport Administrator Opportunity

Here at GXO Burton upon Trent, we're recruiting for a Transport Administrator to join our growing team, supporting our exciting new partnership with Hobbycraft. You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 10:00 to 19:00.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day
- Conduct driver pre-briefs and debriefs, ensuring all route information, paperwork, and operational updates are communicated accurately while capturing feedback from drivers
- Support the day-to-day transport operation by planning and coordinating ad hoc transport requests, maintaining accurate schedules, and ensuring service levels are met
- Complete a range of administrative duties, including payroll processing, data entry, document management, and maintaining transport records to support efficient operations
- Monitor compliance and operational systems by managing defect reporting, maintaining accurate vehicle and driver records, and ensuring the Transport Management System (TMS) remains fully updated and 100% accurate

What You Need to Succeed at GXO
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with drivers, customers, and colleagues while managing multiple priorities effectively
- Good geographical knowledge and ideally, previous transport or logistics experience, with an understanding of the fast-paced nature of a transport operation
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications and transport systems, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and data
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to solve problems, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and perform effectively both independently and as part of a team
