We are looking for a Transport Administrator

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Transport Administrator to join our Transport Department. This is a key support role responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day administration of transport operations, maintaining excellent customer service, and supporting the timely delivery products to our customers. Reporting to the Transport Supervisor.


What you will be doing

  • Providing administrative support to the department.
  • Contacting customers daily via email and telephone, ensuring all the relevant information supplied is correct, and adding any important information relating to deliveries.
  • General Admin Duties will include:
    • Checking and responding to emails in the transport inbox
    • Filing documents, loading copies, delivery notes, any other related content that is applicable.
  • Deal with potential problems using own initiative, skills and knowledge where appropriate, whilst utilising skills of other team members within the transport function.
  • Report on a daily basis to the Transport Supervisor any relevant issues/challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

What you will bring

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, knowledge of the transport process.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous, although training will be supplied.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Descartes routing system (training will be given to the successful candidate).
  • Good level of IT literacy and the ability to learn new system quickly.
