Graduate Transport and Logistics Coordinator - Malton, North Yorkshire

About the Role

An ambitious and data-driven Graduate Transport and Logistics Coordinator is required at a national leader within Fuel & Agricultural Supplies, based in Malton area. The role has arisen due to company growth and ongoing site investment offering career progression opportunities, training, and development in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

The salary starts at up to £35,000 with 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), company pension scheme, free onsite parking, a laptop and phone, and no travel requirements.

Role Summary

As Graduate Transport and Logistics Coordinator, you will:

  • Work across transport operations, improving productivity, efficiency, and operational discipline using software and technology.
  • Monitor driver performance for route efficiency, time utilisation, delivery accuracy, and adherence to driver hours.
  • Drive cost-saving strategies and budget management.
  • Develop soft skills through mentorship from senior colleagues, fostering best practice in logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior staff to deeply understand transport operations and industry standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies and optimising site operations.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of projects, ensuring measurable outcomes.
  • Contribute to budget monitoring, with a focus on cost control and efficiency.
  • Analyse operational data and KPIs, using insights to drive performance improvements and decision-making.
  • Uphold Health & Safety (H&S) standards, promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Optimise daily operations, including:
    • Loading management
    • Driver check-ins
    • Run sheet coordination
    • End-of-shift procedures
  • Implement process improvements to reduce admin workload for drivers and improve depot turnaround times.

Requirements

We are looking for a degree-holder (or equivalent master’s level) in:

  • Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Must have demonstrable interest in logistics/transport procurement and supply chain operations.

  • Strong analytical capability with experience in interpreting operational data and deriving value from it.
  • Highly numerate with a proactive approach to analysing trends for efficiency gains.
  • Broad understanding of Health & Safety principles, including promoting best practice.
  • Leadership potential, capable of developing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, coupled with critical thinking to propose actionable solutions.
