Transport Assistant

LOCATION: Aylesford, Kent

WORKING HOURS: Start time 5am - 7am, 45 core hours, Monday - Friday

CONTRACT: Full-time, Permanent

We're looking for a Transport Assistant to join our growing team at Pineapple.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a reliable and organised Transport Assistant to join our team. If you have a proactive, can-do attitude and enjoy a varied, hands-on role, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll help keep our vehicle fleet legally compliant, support the timely dispatch of orders, and assist with manual handling, including lifting furniture. As part of our small team, you'll be committed, dependable, and enjoy working together to get the job done.


What You'll Be Doing

  • To carry out tasks as set out by the Transport Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring all company delivery vehicles are serviced and maintained as required.
  • Auditing to ensure that all vehicles are checked pre shift.
  • Assist with compliance to legislative requirements for HGV fleet
  • Ensure Driving team have all paperwork and supplies they need to complete their roles
  • Striving to achieve zero errors in all Transport operations
  • Communication with Customer Services/other departments as required
  • Working as part of a team and doing other ad-hoc jobs as required
  • Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed, highlighting non-conformance amongst others when spotted
  • Willingness to assist with delivering of goods where required.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required by the business.

Requirements

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience in a transport, logistics or fleet administration role is desirable but not essential
  • European customs clearance experience highly desirable
  • Comfortable with some heavy lifting, manual handling training will be provided
  • Reliable, dependable and committed to delivering high standards
  • Accurate and careful
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A full UK manual driving licence is a must.
