Transport Co-ordinator

Department: Office & Management Location: West Norwood Compensation: £14.80/hour

London Hire Community Services is one of the largest, specialist and accessible vehicle operators in the UK, providing quality passenger transport services across Kent, Surrey, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Milton Keynes and London. Excitingly, we are expanding into the West Midlands, and we’re seeking dynamic individuals to join our growing team.


About the Role

As a Transport Co-ordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful and compliant delivery of passenger transport services in the West Midlands. This isn’t just an admin job—it’s a dynamic position where no two days are the same. Key Responsibilities

Customer & Operational Support

  • Act as the first point of contact for all queries—telephone, email, or in-person—relating to depot/transport operations, escalating appropriately when required.
  • Liaise regularly with local authorities to provide service user attendance updates.

Compliance & Vehicle Management

  • Monitor and record Mechanical Replacement Vehicle (MRV) usage, reporting weekly to the insurer.
  • Assist with vehicle compliance paperwork, including inspections, servicing, MOTs, and defect documentation.

Admin & System Support

  • Support the management team in keeping the Cordic dispatch system up-to-date with changes to transport routes, including adding/ceasing routes.
  • Liaise with operational staff to disseminate amendments to transport routes for compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and provide dispatch system (Cordic) support to operational users.

Payroll & Additional Duties

  • Assist with staff timesheets and manage general payroll adjustments for Drivers & Passenger Assistants.
  • Support the depot & transport operation on project work as required.
  • Undertake any ad-hoc duties requested by management.

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptional organisation & IT skills.
  • Strong telephone and written communication abilities in English.

  • Provable ability to adhere to Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and any relevant health/safety legislation.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Sound understanding of compliance documentation, transport regulations, and administrative processes.
  • Experience in customer service or operational support would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Familiarity with dispatch systems and vehicle maintenance records is advantageous.

Benefits

  • Salary: £14.80/hour (~£19,240 annually).
  • Flexible part-time: 25 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 1pm–6pm baseline, with shift flexibility (06:00–18:00) as required.
  • 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
