West Yorkshire Combined Authority is delivering one of the most ambitious transport programmes in the UK. Through the introduction of the Weaver network, we are transforming how people travel across the region. This new initiative aims to create a:

The Transport Commercial Director role is a newly created position, representing a rare opportunity to:

As Transport Commercial Director, your key duties include:
- Leading the design, delivery, and performance of the transport commercial strategy
- Growing passenger numbers while ensuring value for money for passengers and West Yorkshire residents
- Driving commercial growth and maximising financial efficiency
- Influencing strategic decision-making to support economic growth, sustainability, and innovation
- Creating a customer-focused transport network
- Ensuring the network is inclusive, financially viable, and designed around passenger needs
Strategic Impact
- Introducing bus franchising, which will give the Combined Authority direct control over:
- Route operations
- Service frequency
- Fare structures
- The largest change to West Yorkshire’s bus network in decades:
- Franchised services launching in Spring 2027
- Full bus network control by late 2028
- Over 117 million passenger journeys annually
- Seeking an outstanding leader to ensure this ambitious vision becomes reality
