Transport Consulting - Manager
About the Role
We are building one of the most innovative and transport-focused consulting capabilities in the market. Our work centres on helping public and private transport organisations design and deliver large-scale transformation, from rethinking operating models to modernising services, improving passenger outcomes, and enabling more efficient, resilient, and digitally-enabled transport systems.
The UK transport sector is undergoing once-in-a-generation change: rail reform and devolution, major capital investment, asset modernisation, digital signalling, intelligent mobility, automation, data-led decision-making, and workforce transformation. Our team supports clients across rail, bus, highways, aviation, and emerging mobility to navigate this complexity and deliver meaningful, lasting change.
We are a collaborative, diverse, and growing team with deep expertise in Transport and Government. As a Manager, you’ll:
- Lead client engagements
- Bring strong sector knowledge
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to shape and deliver end-to-end transformation programmes that make a difference to passengers, freight operators, places, and the wider economy.
What Your Days Will Look Like
- Managing the design and delivery of transport-focused, technology-enabled transformation programmes — such as:
- Operating model redesign
- Service improvement
- Digital transformation
- Programme mobilisation
- Performance uplift
- Developing insight into client needs across rail, bus, highways, aviation, or wider transport
- Supporting the growth of our Transport Enterprise Transformation market
- Helping evolve tools, methods, and assets specifically for transport transformation, drawing on best practice across:
- Operating models
- Change
- Programme delivery
- Digital adoption
- Leading engagement economics, risk and issue management, and ensuring high-quality programme and project delivery
- Building trusted relationships with senior transport stakeholders, and expanding your network across the industry

Ideal Candidate
This role is for you if:
- You have hands-on experience scoping and delivering transformation programmes within the Transport sector, such as:
- Rail reform
- Network or timetable change
- Depot/operations redesign
- Customer experience improvements
- Asset management transformation
- Digital transport initiatives
- You have experience in:
- Operating model design and implementation
- Transformation programme management
- Change and adoption
- Transformation communications in a transport setting.
- You can interpret transport clients’ strategic, operational, and regulatory drivers for change, building trust with stakeholders across complex, multi-agency transport environments.
- You understand the transformation opportunities and constraints unique to transport, including:
- Safety
- Performance regimes
- Operational readiness
- Franchise/contracting structures
- Customer outcomes
- Multi-modal integration
- You are comfortable developing requirements across process, people, organisation, technology, and data to support transport transformation.
- You can articulate the tangible benefits of digital and cloud technologies in the transport domain, such as:
- Predictive maintenance
- Control systems
- Passenger experience tools
- Planning and optimisation technologies
- You have a successful track record of leadership in Transport, either from consulting or directly within the sector.
