Transport Coordinator

Transport Coordinator

Sandiacre & Beeston (Nottingham) Up to £33,750 p.a. (DOE)

Are you a highly organised Transport Coordinator looking to take the next step in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We’re seeking a detail-oriented professional who can confidently manage and support all third-party transport activity, working closely with hauliers, freight forwarders, and specialist lifting partners.

In this varied role, you’ll:

  • Coordinate vehicle movements
  • Ensure full compliance for abnormal loads
  • Play a key part in supporting safe and efficient crane and lifting operations

A blend of office-based logistics planning with hands-on operational oversight will allow you to uphold the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and service delivery.

About the Role

As a Transport Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating all third-party transport activity, acting as the main point of contact for hauliers, freight forwarders, and specialist providers.
  • Scheduling and managing inbound/outbound movements, ensuring timely collections and deliveries and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Reviewing and verifying all transport and export documentation (permits, declarations, booking details).
  • Negotiating rates, availability, and service levels with external partners when required.
  • Planning and overseeing abnormal load movements, ensuring full compliance with permits, escort requirements, route surveys, and statutory regulations.
  • Collaborating closely with heavy haulage specialists to deliver safe and compliant transport solutions.
  • Supporting crane and lifting operations, including scheduling, reviewing lift plans/RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements), and coordinating with site teams to ensure safe execution in line with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).
  • Providing on-site operational support, conducting vehicle/load checks, overseeing lifting activities, and monitoring third-party safety performance.
  • Ensuring full compliance with legal, environmental, and company standards, maintaining accurate records, and supporting incident and near-miss reporting.
  • Maintaining transport schedules, trackers, and reporting while providing clear updates to internal stakeholders and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
