Transport Coordinator
About The Role

As a Logistics Coordinator, on a day-day basis you’ll work with the Service Centres, building great working relationships and product knowledge which you will use to translate your customers, overseeing the complete transport/ logistics operations and planning the workload. You’ll be an ambassador for our “Customer First” culture, resolving any issues quickly and keeping your customers informed, so that they feel truly valued.
Your daily responsibilities will be:
- Be responsible for developing timely and cost-effective daily logistics plans for Sunbelt NoEur depots
- Drive efficiencies for fleet movements
- Strive for continuous improvement in fleet management and availability to achieve “best in class” performance
- Measure and monitor customer satisfaction and feedback regarding delivery, and establish strategies for continuous improvement
- Purchasing Process end 2 End
- Work with Sales and Project Managers to build delivery plans for major projects to achieve project transport budgets
- Organisation of transport for all inter-depot Transfers equipment movements, making efficient use of consolidated and back loads to improve vehicle utilisation
- Month end Accruals
- Responsible for obtaining the necessary customs and cross border documentation
- Control of purchase orders, invoicing and cost reallocation for all inter-depot movements
- Pre planning the use of Sunbelt owned vehicles to optimise loads and driver profitability
- Keep in regular contact with contracted hauliers or Sunbelt drivers for updates and progress
- Ordering vehicles to deliver and collect hires as they happen
- Harbour a professional relationship with the SCMs and Team leaders
- Directly managing the supplier relationships for transport, freight and ferry companies
- Keep and maintain records of the transport movements and costs (i.e. transport log)
- Quality and timely communication with customers to ensure they are kept informed of delivery / collection times
- Check transport rates from haulier’s rate card against charges made to ensure consistency and correct pricing
- Ensure filing of all relevant documentation is kept up to date
- Pay hauliers via procurement process
- Ensure all price and cost data is recorded for logistics performance analysis
- Ensure Sunbelt always get the best value for money and service from its hauliers by:
- Questioning waiting time and ensuring any re-chargeable time is billed on
- Rejecting over charges where not justified
- Communicating with drivers to notify customers with delivery times
- Passing additional charges to customers when applicable
- Liaising with the Energy desk to ensure additional haulage costs are entered onto the chargeable Log
- To understand and ensure that the team comply with all company and departmental rules, safe systems of work and quality procedures
- Ensuring company policies & procedures are enforced

What you will need to bring to the role from day one:
- Prior experience in a role where you can demonstrate exceptional customer service skills
- Able to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues
- Great communication skills – both verbal and written
- Effective administration, planning and organisation skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good IT/Computer skills. MS Office including Excel and Outlook & experience of database entry
- Highly organised and able to work under pressure
Previous experience in the hire or construction industry would be advantageous but not essential
