Transport Coordinator

Transport Coordinator – Doncaster – Full-Time, Permanent

Job Description

Our Doncaster site has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join their friendly team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Salary: £29,555 per annum Working hours: 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, 6:00–18:00

Key Responsibilities

As a Transport Coordinator, you will:

  • Conduct pre-briefs and debriefs for all drivers
  • Manage equipment sign-in/out, ensuring legal compliance
  • Plan and coordinate driver and vehicle resources, updating transport plans as required
  • Act as a key communication link between Customer Services, the planning team, and other depots
  • Identify efficient solutions for customer collections and provide accurate schedules to support KPI achievement
  • Communicate potential service failures or deviations in a timely manner
  • Manage yard checks, ensuring records are completed and information is accurately reported
  • Oversee daily agency labour requirements
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents, and near-misses are reported and logged
  • Support driver scheduling, including meetings, training, and compliance activities
  • Monitor vehicle and trailer service schedules and carry out regular census checks

Requirements & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong planning and organising skills, with a high level of numeracy
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to deliver accurate information
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Experience working independently or as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours regulations
  • Significant experience in the FMCG transport sector
  • A customer-service focus
