Job Description

We are currently seeking a Transport Coordinator to join our Transport team at our Oldham site on a full time permanent basis!

  • Salary: £30,000 per annum.
  • Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

The purpose of a Transport Coordinator is to ensure that all transport administration, inclusive of all compliance aspects, is produced in an accurate and timely manner and is efficiently maintained.

Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator:

  • Proactively communicate weekly PMI schedules and create full year’s schedule for both locations.
  • Present all trailers / vehicles for PMI in line with predetermined schedules.
  • Maintain and analyse Driver data in Tachomaster and generate reports to check legality of the drivers’ hours.
  • Maintain and administer the Fueltek system and reconcile fuel usage - allocate fuel to correct vehicles; issue fuel pin codes to new starters’; issue fuel keys to new vehicles and provide reports to the Transport Team highlighting the drivers MPG performance.
  • Export Microlise data and produce reports on vehicle and driver performance for the Transport Teams.
  • Investigate and record missing vehicle mileage, report exceptions and illegal activity to the Transport Manager.
  • Support sites with haulier set up and administration around BRC requirements.
  • Record holidays and sickness and update the Company timekeeping systems.
  • Monitor and issue contractor permits to work and flag issues to site leadership teams.
  • Undertake departmental audits, record, investigate and communicate findings to the Transport Teams.
  • Create purchase orders on SAP and issue to relevant vendors for services and goods received.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports and respond to queries as required.

Qualifications

  • A working knowledge of the Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours.
  • Attention to detail / accuracy.
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Able to work as part of a team or individually.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Strong communicator across all levels.
  • Strong systems skills including tachomaster / tranman and other maintenance systems.
