Role: Transport Manager
Salary: £48,000 - £52,000 + Excellent package and benefits
Working Pattern: (Sun - Thu, Days 8:00 - 16:30)
Location: Hemel Hempstead
The Role:
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for running a significant transport operations and supporting the Site General Manager in Hemel Hempstead with the overall running of the Distribution Center. You will directly manage a large team of Transport team managers who oversee a 24/7 operation.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Transport Compliance: Ensuring that all legal regulations are met so that the company's ability to carry out its business is not affected
- Budgets and Cost Control: You will seek cost savings against budget where appropriate
- Leadership & Management: Oversee and motivate a team of warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and morale are high
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure the traffic operation runs smoothly, accurately, and cost-effectively
- Health & Safety: Enforce all safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff
- Site Management: Manage yard activities in order to achieve the required high standards in all areas
- Problem-Solving: Address any issues that arise, promptly and effectively
- Reporting: Maintain detailed reports and communicate key information to senior management

Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within a Logistics or retail business (Ideally as a Transport Manager or similar role)
- Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess a sound knowledge of Road Transport Regulations and be a national CPC licence holder
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Problem-Solving: Quick-thinking and adept at resolving issues efficiently
- Flexibility: Ability to cover other shifts as required by the business and adapt to changing demands
- Location: Live within a commutable distance of Hemel Hempstead
