Transport Manager | Full time | Newbury

Palletforce Logistics is a leading pallet distribution company dedicated to providing efficient and reliable services to our clients. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence and our supportive work environment.

The Role

The Operations and Transport Manager will assist in overseeing the daily operations and transportation activities within Palletforce Logistics. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient and reliable pallet distribution services, maintaining high service standards, and supporting the overall logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Assist the Operations manager with the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  • Transport Management: Assisting with the transportation activities, including scheduling, routing, and tracking of deliveries.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of drivers, providing guidance and support.
  • Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with CPC requirements in line with O’Licence and all legal Transport requirements. (Inspections, MOT’s, Loler etc.)
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor driver efficiencies, absences and vehicle related incidents
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports transport activities to senior management.

Hours: 0700-1700hrs

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Proven experience within logistics, transport, or a related operational environment.
  • A valid CPC qualification (Essential).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • A sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in logistics management systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach to work.
