Our team is dedicated to maintaining high standards of compliance and operational efficiency. Join us and grow your career in a supportive and expanding business environment. We foster a strong culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Job Description: We are excited to welcome an enthusiastic Transport Manager to our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring our transport operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for overseeing the resourcing, organising and supervising of the transport activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Inspire a Large Team - You'll manage a team of around 40 people, including drivers and transport office staff. You'll set the tone for a positive, collaborative working environment where everyone feels supported and motivated to do their best.
  • Own the Daily Transport Operation - From planning and resourcing to execution and problem-solving, you'll oversee all aspects of the transport function. You'll ensure that deliveries are made on time, vehicles are utilised efficiently, and any issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Utilise Transport Management Systems (TMS) - You'll use transport management systems, primarily Mandata or Manpack to plan routes, monitor performance, track compliance, and optimise efficiency across the operation.
  • Drive Performance Through Data - You'll produce and present detailed KPIs and performance reports, using insights to drive improvements in efficiency, cost control, and service quality. You'll also set clear targets for your team and track progress regularly.
  • Champion Health, Safety & Compliance - You'll take a proactive approach to health and safety, conducting audits, creating risk assessments, and ensuring all legal and company standards are met. You'll also oversee driver compliance, including licence checks, CPC records, and training.
  • Manage and Maintain the Fleet - Working closely with maintenance providers, you'll ensure that all vehicles are roadworthy, compliant, and available when needed. You'll also support drivers with vehicle checks and ensure any issues are addressed promptly.
  • Develop and Support Your Team - You'll hold regular 1-2-1s, performance reviews, and development conversations with your direct reports. You'll also deliver training sessions on key topics like vehicle checks, company processes, and CPC updates.
  • Run Effective Meetings and Debriefs - You'll lead regular meetings with Transport Supervisors to review performance, share updates, and align on priorities. You'll also conduct meaningful driver debriefs and gate checks to ensure accountability and legal compliance.
  • Support Strategic Goals - You'll work closely with the Contract Manager to support both local and wider business objectives. You'll contribute ideas, lead initiatives, and help shape the future of the operation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
