At Romac Logistics, people are the foundation of our success. We are a growing logistics business specialising in chilled and ambient distribution, delivering high service levels to leading retail and FMCG customers across the UK.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to lead the transport operation at one of our busy distribution sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport professional to take ownership of a fast-paced, KPI-driven operation within a 24/7 chilled logistics environment.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for delivering a safe, compliant and commercially efficient transport operation whilst maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day transport operation within a busy 24/7 chilled distribution environment.
- Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence requirements, Driver Hours Regulations and all UK transport legislation.
- Manage transport planning, fleet utilisation and driver performance to maximise operational efficiency.
- Deliver customer KPIs including OTIF, service levels and operational performance.
- Manage transport costs and support delivery of site budget objectives.
- Lead, coach and develop Transport Supervisors, Planners, Driver Trainers and Driver teams.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and compliance issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, accountability and operational excellence.

Skills And Experience
- Transport Manager CPC holder – essential.
- Previous experience as a Transport Manager, Assistant Transport Manager or Transport Operations Manager within a busy transport operation.
- Experience within chilled logistics, retail RDC, food distribution or FMCG transport environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, Operator Licence compliance and Driver Hours Regulations.
- Experience managing transport teams within a 24/7 operation.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing operational costs and performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced operational environment where customer service and compliance are equally important.
