Habs has been awarded Independent School of the Year 2025
Habs has been awarded Independent School of the Year 2025, with Haberdashers’ Elstree Schools receiving both the award for Outstanding Educational Partnerships and the overall top accolade of Independent School of the Year 2025. This recognition reflects our long-term commitment to social impact and the deep, sustained collaborations we continue to build with our state sector partners. It is an exciting time to join our community.
Every school day begins and ends with hundreds of students arriving safely on our campus. Behind every successful journey is a well-organised transport service, and we're looking for a proactive, organised and customer-focused Transport Officer to help ensure it runs seamlessly.
At Haberdashers' Elstree Schools, our transport network plays a vital role in school life, connecting students and families across London and the surrounding counties. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines operational coordination, administration and customer service, with plenty of time spent out at the coach park supporting students, drivers and colleagues.
If you enjoy working in a busy environment where no two days are the same, thrive on solving problems, and take pride in delivering an excellent service, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As Transport Officer, you'll coordinate the day-to-day operation of our transport service, ensuring the safe and efficient running of the coach park while supporting the wider administration of transport across the Schools.
Working closely with our Transport Coordinator and external transport providers, you'll be a visible presence during key operational periods, helping students, liaising with drivers, resolving day-to-day issues and ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.
Alongside the operational aspects of the role, you'll maintain transport records, support compliance activities, coordinate coach bookings and help ensure our transport systems remain organised and effective.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
