Transport Operations Manager

If so, we are looking for a Transport Operations Manager to join us, on a full time, permanent basis, to be based Leicester.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
- Take accountability and responsibility for your site, effectively managing your time to ensure a safe and efficient service
- As a true people manager, you will focus on ensuring that your colleagues receive the right level of support, coaching and development
- Manage the relationship between XPO and our customers, constantly communicating across various stakeholders
- Ensure that all teams are aligned, operating to XPO standard policies and procedures
- Support the Contract Manager with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations with a huge emphasis on safety, deputising in their absence
- Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resource available at site and keep the customer updated
- Working closely with the customer on a day-to-day basis, you’ll support with period reviews and customer presentation in the contract managers absence.
- Provide leadership and guidance for your team to enable them to meet objectives, encouraging open communication

What You Need To Succeed At XPO
- Ideally, you’ll already be a Transport Manager or have Transport experience in a 3PL environment, looking for the next step
- Great People Management and Leadership skills
- Fantastic stakeholder management skills both internally and externally.
- Commercially minded – understanding and managing the P&L for the site.
- International CPC holder – essential
- A track record of resolving complex issues and delivering results in a fast paced environment
