Transport Operations Manager
The Role
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transport function, leading a traffic office team and overseeing approximately 40 drivers.
You will play a key part in strengthening operational discipline, improving communication, and driving service performance across the depot.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the traffic office team
- Oversee daily collections, deliveries, route adherence, and driver allocation.
- Maintain operational discipline and ensure compliance across the fleet.
- Manage driver performance, behaviour, and accountability.
- Work closely with pallet networks
- Resolve issues quickly and make confident operational decisions.
- Drive improvements across processes, standards, and overall operational culture.

What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership in a traffic office or transport management environment.
- Strong understanding of Transport cost control and profit levers
- Transport planning knowledge and understanding
- Experience of pallet networks would be preferred however we are flexible on sector background
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Someone who thrives in environments undergoing change and improvement.
