James Kemball is seeking a Transport Operator to assist our Southampton branch.
Responsibilities:
Our Transport Operators are responsible for:
- Effective Route Planning and Operating of container trucks.
- Experience working in Container transport.
- Previous transport experience.
- Proficiency in TOPS.
- Knowledge of driver’s rules and regulations and WTD.
- Ability to communicate at all levels.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent levels of commitment and motivation.
- Work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to question, challenge and improve upon existing processes.
What you'll bring:
- Ensuring Operator’s License and drivers hours legislation are adhered to.
- Dealing with any issues that arise impacting operations, including traffic delays, breakdowns, accidents.
- Managing drivers including agency drivers and subcontractors.
- Alongside Fleet Department Maintain and action all defects immediately following the correct process and ensure any VOR vehicles are kept off the road until rectified.
- Work with customers to meet current and anticipated requirements to achieve service expectations.
- Drive high standards and flag opportunities for process improvement.
- To ensure constructive relationships with all customers are maintained and developed.
- To undertake any duties as may reasonably be required.
