The role:

We’re looking for an afternoon Transport Operator to join our Leeds team on a full time, permanent basis (LS9 0SG). If you thrive in a fast paced environment, enjoy problem solving and want to be part of a team that keeps the UK supply chain moving, this role could be a great fit.

Working afternoons, you’ll play a central role in our transport operation—supporting drivers, speaking with customers, managing delivery schedules and keeping our systems accurate and up to date. What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Transport Operator, you’ll coordinate fleet activity and ensure timely, compliant and customer focused delivery operations at our Leeds depot. You’ll be the person who keeps everything running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating delivery schedules to drivers
  • Handling customer queries by phone and email
  • Inputting accurate information into our systems (Excel skills are important)
  • Acting as the main point of contact for order processing
  • Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Escalating issues promptly to ensure service expectations are met
  • Identifying and recommending solutions to delivery failures or customer queries
  • Maintaining high standards of compliance
  • Supporting the smooth running of all traffic office contracts

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Familiarity around transport procedures
  • Strong IT skills, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Confidence in communicating with and supervising drivers
  • The ability to build strong relationships with customers
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
