Balloo Hire Centres is a leading provider of tool, plant and welfare equipment hire for businesses and DIY needs in Northern Ireland. Balloo Hire Centres are part of The Briggs Equipment Group and therefore can offer a local solution with corporate level support.
We have a new opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our transport team in Belfast.
In This Role You Will
- Optimise transport routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Allocate vehicles, drivers, and equipment to ensure smooth delivery operations.
- Create and manage delivery schedules that meet customer and inventory requirements.
- Anticipate risks such as weather or road disruptions and implement contingency plans.
- Maintain full compliance with transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, suppliers, and internal teams on schedules and changes.
- Monitor KPIs to assess delivery performance, utilisation, and cost efficiency.
- Minimise waste and inefficiency, regularly challenging existing practices to ensure effectiveness.

What Will Help You To Excel In This Role
- Experience working in a fast-paced office environment in a planning or administrative role
- Knowledge of Driver Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive
- Background in transport, logistics, or operations (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident using IT systems
