Transport Planning Specialist

Role Summary
Contributing to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. You are a highly motivated and driven individual, experienced in fast-paced environments, able to manage daily challenges while providing effective transport planning solutions.
Salary: £34,000 per annum Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 – 18:00
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Transport and Warehouse teams to create efficient transport plans using the latest Transport Management System (TMS)
- Consolidate 400+ orders into loads within every 24-hour period
- Subcontract and plan orders from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK
- Plan daily fleet workloads, including vehicle/logistics (tractors) across multiple depots and outbases
- Address and report issues, resolve query problems, and provide solutions under pressure
- Schedule and manage approximately 100 collections daily, with time-sensitive requirements
- Maintain and surpass Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Continuously seek and implement operational improvements
- Make decisive, time-critical decisions
- Adapts flexibly to meet business demands, particularly during peak periods
- Optimise utilisation of the Culina Group network to support Stobart when operational demands increase

Qualifications & Requirements
Core Skills & Experience
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
- Proficient in computer literacy: Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Outlook
- CPC certification is desirable but not mandatory
- Experience planning 100+ tractors/units across multiple depots
- Strong communication skills, excelling in pressurised environments
- Customer-centric mindset with focus on delivery performance
- Commercially and financially astute, committed to delivering exceptional results
- Experience using Transport Management Software (TMS)
- Background in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environments
- Strong analytical skills, with expertise in Excel (including standard formulas)
