Transport Planner

Transport Supervisor – SIG Insulation & Drylining

About the Role

Responsibilities

To deliver products to customers efficiently, safely, and on-time; to act as the friendly and professional representative of SIG while on site, and cover for the Transport Manager when they are unavailable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering products to customer sites or premises
  • Ensuring unloading is performed correctly and all related paperwork is completed accurately by you and the customer
  • Conducting daily safety checks before drives
  • Maintaining all transport documents and ensuring paperwork is up-to-date
  • Following company regulations to maintain proper care of your vehicle
  • Completing additional duties within the warehouse or yard as necessary

  • Functioning in the absence of the Transport Manager, making decisions in their stead
  • Coordinating with external transport providers
  • Supervising the loading and unloading processes for all vehicles
  • Enforcing compliance with health and safety protocols across the team
  • Addressing any reasonable duties that align with your capabilities, including:
    • Foreign body removen regulatory adherence for all deliveries
    • Preventing loading errors and minimizing breakages on-site
    • Ensuring customer satisfaction with delivery schedules

Driver Requirements

  • Valid driving license with fewer than 6 penalty points*
  • Clean driving record for vehicle and applicable forklift use requirements
  • Basic numeracy and IT proficiency
  • Preference for candidates with an understanding of health and safety procedures
