About the Role

Location: Dagenham

ReFood operates its AD plants as integrated recycling units, processing various food wastes to generate renewable electricity, heat, and ReGrow, a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms. The plants also handle the recycling of food waste packaging, offering an environmentally sustainable solution to help waste producers safely divert food waste from landfill.

We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our team at the ReFood Dagenham site in a full-time permanent position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

  • Assisting in ensuring the efficient operation of the Company’s collection services and meeting Service Level Agreements for customers.
  • Planning daily workloads for vehicles based at the Dagenham site.
  • Optimising the use of drivers and vehicles for both deliveries and collections.
  • Conducting effective route planning.
  • Handling customer inquiries via telephone and email from clients, employees, and colleagues.
  • Managing driver hours to ensure compliance.
  • Planning fleet services and MOTs in line with the O licence requirements for Dagenham.
  • Adhering to company procedures and legislative obligations, including health & safety, and other statutory transport regulations.
  • Monitoring fuel levels at both sites and negotiating pricing with suppliers at the re-order point.
  • Assisting in controlling and operating the Weighbridge.
  • Assisting in any additional duties or projects as directed by the management team.

Requirements

  • Good formal education
  • Previous experience working within a busy Transport Office/Department
  • Experience in multi-drop planning and proficiency in using planning systems
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage conflicting demands
  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations
  • Capacity to work under pressure in an environment that is dynamic and frequently changing
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Committed, reliable and flexible team player
  • Qualification in CPC National (CPC International is advantageous)
