Transport Planner
Location: Baglan, Port Talbot
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
We are looking for an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our busy Transport team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration and communication skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
The Role:
As a Transport Planner, you'll play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day coordination of transport operations. Working closely with internal departments and external transport providers, you'll help ensure customer deliveries are completed efficiently while maintaining high service standards.
This is a varied position that combines administration, planning, and communication, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and working as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise transport bookings to ensure goods are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Liaise with transport providers and internal departments regarding deliveries and transport queries.
- Check logistics supplier invoices and process credit and debit notes.
- Support the Transport Office Supervisor with supplier performance monitoring and service quality.
- Provide administrative support across distribution and logistics activities.
- Ensure transport processes comply with company procedures and policies.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture throughout transport operations.

About You:
We're looking for someone who is motivated, organised, and enjoys working in a busy office environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within a transport, logistics, or shipping environment (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure.
- Confidence working independently as well as part of a team.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) would be advantageous.
- An understanding of transport regulations and logistics processes would be beneficial.
