Role Description
The Transport Planner is a full-time on-site role based in Aylesford, responsible for planning and coordinating the daily movement of vehicles and equipment to and from customer sites. This role involves scheduling deliveries and collections, optimizing routes, and ensuring efficient utilization of the fleet while meeting customer timeframes and safety standards. The Transport Planner will work closely with operations, drivers, and service engineers to resolve logistical issues, manage unforeseen changes, and maintain accurate transport records and system data. Day-to-day tasks include communicating with customers and internal teams, monitoring vehicle locations and status, and supporting compliance with relevant transport regulations and company procedures. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement in transport efficiency and service quality.

- Candidates should possess strong Transportation Planning and Transport Modelling skills to design efficient routes and support data-driven scheduling decisions.
- Candidates should possess Transportation Management and Operations Management skills to coordinate fleet activities, manage resources, and maintain service reliability.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with drivers, engineers, and customers, and to handle queries and issues clearly and professionally.
- Candidates should have good IT and system skills, including experience with transport or fleet management software and proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and time management abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant experience in transport, logistics, or construction equipment hire is beneficial, and knowledge of UK transport regulations and safety standards is an advantage.
- A valid UK driving license is desirable, and relevant vocational or professional qualifications in transport, logistics, or operations management are an asset.
