Transport Planner

Transport Planner – Development Planning

Location: Birmingham (Permanent)

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum

Region: UK – West Midlands

Your Role

Your role will be fundamental in delivering transport planning services, encompassing:

  • Preparing:
    • Transport Assessments
    • Transport Statements
    • Travel Plans
  • Carrying out:
    • Site access appraisals
    • Junction capacity assessments
    • Parking reviews
  • Supporting transport chapters for Environmental Statements
  • Liaising with:
    • Clients
    • Local authorities
    • Stakeholders
  • Assisting with:
    • Project management
    • Proposal preparation

Requirements

We seek candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in UK transport/development planning
  • A strong, comprehensive understanding of:
    • The UK planning system
    • Relevant transport guidance (e.g., NPPF, Manual for Streets)
  • Proficiency in:
    • Technical analysis tools
    • Technical report writing
  • A degree in:
    • Transport Planning
    • Geography
    • Civil Engineering
    • (or closely related discipline)
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
  • An enthusiastic, proactive approach, with a eagerness to develop your career
