Transport Planner
Redditch - Onsite Full Time
c.£35,000 - £40,000 + benefits
We're working with a well-established European logistics business looking to appoint a Transport Planner to join their busy operations team in Redditch.
Operating across the UK and mainland Europe, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation where you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient planning and coordination of transport activity while delivering outstanding service to customers. European transport planning experience would be advantageous, although candidates with strong UK transport planning experience who are keen to develop within a pan-European operation are also encouraged to apply.
The Role
- Plan and coordinate daily transport movements across the UK and Europe
- Optimise routes to maximise vehicle utilisation, efficiency, and customer service
- Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure deliveries run smoothly
- Respond to changing customer requirements and resolve operational issues quickly
- Monitor transport performance and ensure service levels are maintained
- Ensure transport activities remain compliant with relevant legislation and company procedures
- Maintain accurate planning and transport documentation
- Support continuous improvement across transport operations

The Person
- Previous experience as a Transport Planner or within a transport operations environment
- Strong geographical knowledge and planning ability
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across customers, drivers, and colleagues
- Experience of European road freight or pan-European logistics would be beneficial but is not essential
- Experience using transport planning or transport management systems would be advantageous
