Transport Planner - PM Shift

Transport Planner (PM Shift) – Crawley

Our growing logistics company in Crawley is hiring a Transport Planner - PM Shift to enhance fleet operations, optimise routes, and maintain high service standards while ensuring compliance.

Our client is a well-established and rapidly expanding logistics organisation based in Crawley. Renowned for delivering efficient and reliable transport solutions, the business reinvests in operations, talent, and technology to support continued growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and optimise daily vehicle routes to enhance efficiency and service levels
  • Allocate tasks to drivers, ensuring compliance with schedules, drivers' hours, and working time directives (WTD)
  • Monitor fleet movements and address delays or operational issues promptly
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to streamline deliveries and collections
  • Maintain accurate transport records and update logistics management systems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the transport function
  • Deliver consistent high levels of customer service

Required Profile

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Previous experience in a Transport Planner or similar logistics role
  • Strong familiarity with UK transport regulations and compliance requirements
  • Bonus: Experience in Transport Pallet Network
  • Exceptional organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear communication with both internal and external stakeholders
  • (Desirable) Experience using transport management systems (TMS)
